Role Summary
The role of a Project Engineer sees you responsible for planning and coordinating projects, working alongside customer engineering teams to create quality engineering solutions for our customers. You are expected to have a professional approach to managing routine client enquiries, sales processing and sales administration for all appropriate customers.
The role will predominantly be Derby based with an expectation that you will regularly visit sites when your projects are live alongside visiting when necessary, for any new works we are quoting for.
Main responsibilities will include
Technical point of contact for assigned projects for both internal and external customers
Develop project scopes, objectives, deliverables and costings in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
Plan, oversee and lead engineering projects via the tailored New Product Introduction (NPI) system.
Create technical documentation to support projects such as repair procedures, SOPs and route cards.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Prepare and present project status reports to clients and senior management
Preferred Skills / Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Manufacturing or related area
3 years plus experience in project engineering or related role
Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management and industry best practices
Proficiency in project management, software and tools e.g. MS Project
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to think critically
High level of attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience of rolling stock vehicle and component repairs would be advantageous
