The role

As Project Engineer, you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. From decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.

Day to day, you\'ll work within our EDF Investment Delivery team at Torness Nuclear Power Station.

  • You will deliver packages of work from initial assignment right through to close out.
  • You will manage the project using close collaboration with team members, the client and other contract partners to ensure the work is delivered in line with stakeholder requirements.
  • Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to; work planning, producing and reviewing technical documentation, review and approval of contractors, technical surveys, risk assessments and chairing meetings.
Essential experience of the Project Engineer:
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry (for example nuclear, aviation) is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of identifying, implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and all site based legislative requirements.
  • Able to produce a turnkey package of work (Documentation, Install Supervision, testing and sign off to the client once complete)
This role is full time at 37 hours per week, onsite at Torness power station. Overtime will be available at times of works delivery.

Qualifications for the Project Engineer:
  • HNC or above in an Engineering Discipline, mechanical preferred
The successful candidate must be able to achieve CTC security clearance for this role.
