Job Description


Our client, a leading provider and supplier of vibration, displacement and seismic monitoring, and speed instrumentation solutions in demanding environments, operate across several industries including Defence, Nuclear, Power, Oli & Gas, Mining.

The Project Engineer is responsible for actioning all site related project work in a timely manner, actively responding to customer requirements and defining appropriate solutions. Representing the Company and its values to outside parties in such a way as to positively promote the business. To take responsibility for the quality of own actions, ensuring all relevant processes are adhered to.

The Project Engineer will be approximately 50 / 50 office and field based. With potential to grow in to a senior role in the business.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Carry out occasionally physically demanding installation and commissioning activities for all Company and OEM specified equipment and systems.
  • Prepare appropriate procedures in relation to customer I&C requirements which plan, specify and record site activities.
  • Provide system design support and contribute to the definition of customer requirement specifications.
  • Ensure site-specific drawings, handbooks, equipment configurations and set up information is maintained according to company procedures.
  • Take responsibility for own and others safety in relation to site activities, ensuring all customer procedures are followed and appropriate training and monitoring is in place prior to commencement of work.
  • Take responsibility for own good practices and housekeeping.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum HNC (Engineering related subject) or equivalent (Degree preferred).
  • 3 years experience of installation and commissioning of electromechanical equipment, including electronic testing and fault finding (preferred).
  • Experience of liaison with engineering in solving technical issues.
  • Good team player and communicator, flexible approach to multiple tasks, taking responsibility for own actions.
  • This is a physically demanding role.
