An opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join Outreach Offshore Limited primarily involved in service installation, project planning, repair, test and maintenance of a variety of hydraulic and electrical lifting equipment. We have some specialist equipment that requires project management including Technical Support in all aspects of our product ranges. You must be willing to travel from time to time throughout the UK and worldwide as the needs arise.
The successful candidate will have the skills to work on their own initiative to provide and execute project management and contracts working closely with the management team as part of the company's new equipment projects, service and maintenance activities to all applicable industry sectors in the UK, Offshore and Overseas.
The position will include working on sites, with clients who require stringent security checks to be carried out, and undertaking this will be critical to the role.
Responsibilities
Project Management (New Equipment Projects): planning & scheduling budget management, purchasing, managing resource and sub-contractors.
Technical support: technical sales support for parts and new equipment, project technical support to engineers.
Report to senior management team.
Client liaison: engage with clients, reports and meetings. Site visits and surveys.
Supplier liaison: engagement with Palfinger including travel to factories, ordering and interacting with other suppliers.
Support on Electrical/Hydraulic fault finding and repair.
Documentation production: technical and operational documents.
Promote the sale of the company's products and services.
Follow company's health and safety procedures.
Supporting the execution of all service activities and major projects notwithstanding contractual negotiations with contracts and estimates including both S.A.T and F.A.T activities.
Ad hoc offshore/onsite project management of service activities.
Service support in the management of engineering staff and sub-contractors.
Assisting in the procurement of marine cranes liaising with sales and technically supporting in negotiations where necessary.
Manage RAMS and Lift Plans to align with client expectations utilising service team to produce.
Manage special projects of Outreach Design products.
Skills
HNC/HND/Degree on engineering discipline or equivalent.
Project Management experience or qualification.
Experience in the lifting equipment industry.
Strong understanding and awareness of health and safety on site including RAMS and Lift Plans.
IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience with hydraulic lifting equipment, i.e. cranes (advantageous).
Mechanical/hydraulic experience.
Electrical experience.
Appointed person qualification
Ability to understand the principles associated with mechanics, electrics and hydraulics in relating to lifting equipment.
BOSIET Certification (training can be provided).
GWO Certification (training can be provided).
LEEA qualification (training can be provided).
Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 AND ISO45001.
Advanced computer skills.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Microsoft, excel and word proficiency.
MS project.
Attention to detail, ability to get things done efficiently.
Demonstrating real enthusiasm for interactions with customers.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
