As a result of ongoing success and planned strategic recruitment, we are looking for an experienced Aerosol Specification Engineer to complement our existing team.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate will have good communication skills and a \xe2\x80\x98hands-on\xe2\x80\x99 approach. You will have a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree (or in a closely allied field) or completed an Apprenticeship programme. You will have had previous exposure to the Aerosol industry and to packaging machinery.

With a global customer network, you will undertake overseas travel to audit, collate information regarding machinery upgrades or assistance with customer trials. You will be flexible regarding working hours, travel and temporary secondment between the technical office (Slough) and the production site (Heckmondwike) \xe2\x80\x93 as well as other R.A Jones sites and Coesia businesses.

Main Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Technical Manager, and alongside the Engineering Team the role will be varied, operating with multiple projects and tasks at different phases. You will be interpreting basic customer requirements using existing data and archive project data to achieve standard specifications, listing out exceptions. Projects will vary from simple change-parts on existing customer platforms right up to \xc2\xa32-3m complete packaging solutions.

Tasks may include:

• Basic design layouts for geometry and scaling.
• Creating variations of existing manufactured parts.
• Calculations for consumption, speed and filling rates.
• Handling of Bill of Materials, reporting, reconfiguring and updating.
• Issuing of specification with accompanying notes, diagrams and instructions.
• Control of customer trials, specifying trial equipment, practical assistance in build and test \xe2\x80\x93 typically in house and occasionally on customer sites.
• Auditing of customers existing equipment for the completeness of making proposed changes and upgrades.
• Assisting with performance issues on newly installed equipment, running trials, writing action plans.
• Writing supplier user requirements for bought out parts and assemblies (i.e. from basic motorised gearboxes to machines to be integrated into our as sold lines)
• Technical liaison through meetings, reports, diagrams, presentations to other business areas but predominately (Sales, Production, After-market and customers)
• Assist with the building of a knowledge repository, creating templates, procedures, forms, databases etc.
• Creation of user documentation (manuals both operator and parts).
• Creation and delivery of training materials both internally and to customers.
• Develop product and engineering expertise to be the \xe2\x80\x9cgo to person\xe2\x80\x9d.

The ideal candidate will possess

• Basic knowledge in AutoCad and Solidworks.
• Microsoft office skills \xe2\x80\x93 report writing and presenting complex data.
• Ideally working knowledge of Syspro or similar MRPII system.
• Good working knowledge of Pneumatics, mechatronics, logic control.
• Knowledgeable in workflow from cradle to grave, through all functions of the business.
• Willingness to gain new skills and embark on training.
• Requirements to converse with customers and internal stakeholders, including being able to communicate complex subject matter.
• Current passport and driving license holder without any international restrictions.
