Team Swift are recruiting for the role of Project Engineer. The Engineering Group is the core engineering source for Product Engineering for both current and new projects and as such will liaise with customers, dealers, suppliers, test facilities and legislative bodies. Using Engineering Tools, such as D-FMEA, FEA and Risk Analysis, this role demands the creation of highly detailed CAD models, specifications and engineering data which minimizes risk, maximizes benefit and exceed expectations.
The Project Engineer must be able to resolve problems and recommend innovative robust engineering solutions and remedies that deliver against the strict targets of cost, weight, complexity, quality and timing. All new design solutions and updates are to be simple in their design, robust in their function and practical in their assembly, use and application. The engineer must consider the customer at all times.
The Project Engineer will be expected to utilise best practice quality and engineering tools and techniques within the department, and seek every opportunity to improve operational processes and efficiency.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To deliver technical solutions to a consistently high quality, with minimum errors.
To take ownership of designs and solutions and follow through from concept to production.
To create high quality detailed engineering CAD drawings and supporting data.
To specify components, materials and systems accurately and to a highly detailed level.
To develop accurate SES, SQR and CER documentation as required.
To prepare Bills of Materials, outsourced parts specifications & drawings, internal layouts, engineering support, preparation of test specifications & the supervision of test work.
To deliver engineering drawings & solutions that are accurate, unambiguous, on time and in line with agreed plans.
To specify materials and engineer products which consider cost effectiveness and product reliability and functionality.
To work closely with suppliers, partners, test facilities and legislative bodies to ensure that the Swift Group, its products and customers benefit fully from joint collaborations and shared expertise.
To support the D&D Technical Support Team with information and support with direct involvement and communication with customers and dealers as and when requested.
Support meetings with attendance & reports, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Engineering Degree (minimum)
Minimum five years relevant experience of design
Qualifications or training in the use of 3D CAD (Pro-Engineer)
Experience of Engineering tools - FMEA's, FEA, etc.
Experience of tooling an advantage
Good and diverse understanding of differing materials and their application
Awareness of technical advances in relevant areas, including new materials developments & weight saving techniques.
* Comfortable working in cross-functional teams, including experience of working with suppliers on collaborative projects.
