Job Description

Main Responsibilities and Duties:



Work closely with the Operations Manager to assist and support activities that offer the best service to the client Design, check and manage elements of multi-disciplinary projects Carrying out detailed structural analysis and design checks of a variety of structures and will involve site inspections and supervision of construction including developing close working relationships with contractor clients Prepare technical design information (including 3D models) and written inputs to technical reports to deliver engineering solutions for a range of projects. The work will cover sections of infrastructure, earthworks, remediation, surface drainage, SUDS and sewerage. These services will be provided for our client's residential, commercial, employment, retail, industrial and distribution schemes. The work will be across all project phases including pre-planning and feasibility, through to construction and demolition.

Other Responsibilities:



Take ownership of technical challenges, develop a strategy and implement the solution through engagement and Liaising with Clients, regulators/other project stakeholders and other in-house skill groups; Lead people on projects to deliver positive outcomes for clients Guide and mentor Junior members of the team, Technicians and Graduates Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications and calculation notes, etc) Perform analysis tasks as necessary Oversight, verification and leadership for the preparation of Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical Reports, Inter-discipline design coordination and supervision Technical verifications of civil engineering documents Prepare an outline brief, visit site, review information including planning history and services Prepare technical details for Architectural design and prepare technical specifications Liaise and attend meetings with Architects, clients, subcontractors and other professionals Represent the business, in a professional and courteous way Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects Making sure the project complies with statutory requirements Complying to Health and Safety and CDM regs. Performing due diligence on the impact and feasibility of new construction sites. Overseeing all project stages from preliminary layouts to final engineering designs. Surveying new construction sites and assessing existing structures for upgrades. Designing and recommending improvements to computer-aided design (CAD) software drawings and schematics. Inspecting completed projects for compliance with industry codes, specifications, and safety standards. Preparation of engineering models including cut and fill appraisals, Retaining Wall design, Highway Structure assessment, infrastructure design, drainage design including SUDS and ground modelling to set site levels; Understanding the relationship between and working with other project disciplines. Gaining ongoing experience in civil engineering and infrastructure development. Producing layouts and technical reports for land appraisals and working drawings. Undertake Commission site investigations, topographical surveys, and other assessments. Briefing engineering consultants on design scopes, including roads, sewers, drainage, retaining walls, and foundation designs. Negotiating with statutory bodies and utility undertakers on engineering issues. Address technical queries. Comply with Health, Safety, and Environment policies. Act as the technical lead on projects as and when required. Review drawings and documentation. Undertake analysis and design using hand calculations or software like Tedds. Ensure that the quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, calculations, etc.) are always maintained. Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the client's objectives. Developing civil deliverables including layout, outline design drawings, constructability assessment, risk assessment, and project programme. Produce outline work packages and scope of work documents for contractors to provide pricing. Prepare project capital cost, energy savings calculations, and financial evaluations. Liaise with client stakeholders and attend regular client project meetings. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and understanding of entire project terms and technical requirements. Assist in improving operations, decreasing turnaround times, streamlining work processes, and working cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service. Undertake any tasks responsibly as instructed by or agreed upon with Directors.

Pay: 28,000.00-33,000.00 per year
