Project Engineer (Electrical Bias) - Home Based (North & Scotland)

Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to take on projects that really make a difference?
At Calor, we're looking for a Project Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Engineering team. This is a home-based role covering the North and Scotland, with regular travel to sites. A company vehicle (for business use) and travel expenses will be provided.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your expertise on projects that enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, productivity, and sustainability across our high-hazard operations. From supporting operations and customer projects to leading major capital investment programmes, no two days will be the same.
What you'll do
Lead and deliver engineering projects, with a focus on electrical systems and installations.
Apply your specialist knowledge to solve real-world problems and improve performance.
Provide technical expertise and support across Operations, Sales, and Customer Engineering.
Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of new systems and equipment.
Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and Calor specifications.
Manage contractors, consultants, and suppliers during project delivery.
Share your electrical expertise across the team, supporting knowledge growth.
What we're looking for
HNC (minimum) in a relevant engineering discipline; working towards Chartered status desirable.
Strong background in electrical engineering with up-to-date knowledge of the 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
Experience working on high-hazard process plants and knowledge of COMAH Regulations.
Familiarity with safety analysis techniques such as HAZOP and LOPA.
Proven project engineering/management skills, including cost control.
A proactive mindset with the ability to set high standards, challenge ways of working, and drive improvement.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
