As a Project Engineer, you'll lead the engineering process on projects and at every stage you'll be looking to see that the highest quality technical solutions are applied, cost-effectively and within schedule. You'll also review technical submissions, generate estimates and use your technical knowledge to appraise equipment and make recommendations for further efficiencies and compliance. What's more, you'll see that all safety procedures are followed and reported.



What you'll be doing:




Proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders providing the technical expertise to assist with the development and implementation of the technical strategy, helping to shape project delivery Producing and maintaining a suite of technical project documentation (System Engineering Management Plan, system design documentation, system requirements and technical specifications, test and commissioning plans etc) Leading the execution and delivery of engineering projects to a high standard Supporting the project team delivering technical solutions, designs and/or critical equipment operational and commissioning issues Building technical specifications ready to tender to the supply chain Reviewing and support to commercial opportunities and bids


In this role, you'll lead multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of projects across a broad range of technologies for a variety of industrial sectors. You'll work with the in-house Engineering Design and Manufacturing Groups, science teams and Project Management Office supporting the implementation of the NPL project delivery framework, ensuring that projects are delivered to time, cost and highest quality standard. You will work with our science teams to provide engineering and strategic direction for projects and communicate the needs, risks and successes to stakeholders across NPL.


What you can bring to the role:




Demonstrable experience of delivering projects throughout the product lifecycle in a regulated and technology defining environment. Experience in using tools to enhance collaboration and control project deliveries such as a Product Lifecycle Management tool. Awareness of project controls and understanding of KPI's to measure success
