Support Capex Team in the delivery of a portfolio of Capital Projects from initial concept through to completion and handover
Use technical expertise to define technical requirements for projects and liaise with internal suppliers and contractors to create engineering solutions
Co-ordinate and lead elements of project implementation, installation and testing phases of key projects
Ensure solutions are safely implemented and compliant with legislation and site standards
Key Responsibilities
Member of team delivering a portfolio of Capital Projects
Responsible for the day to day running of own work streams within capital projects
Create requirement specifications and scopes of works, evaluate technical options, and make recommendations to business
Liaise with suppliers, site contractors, site management, engineers, operatives, safety professionals, and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are clearly defined and met safely, on time, and within budget, and installations are fit for purpose
Fully control engineering works associated with projects using Site permit system, Control-of contractor system, regular audits, and other appropriate methods
Ensure that legal requirements/regulations such as CDM Regs 2015 are adhered to
Comply with company and departmental procedures and site standards
Support commissioning, production trials, and training activities associated with Capital projects
Ensure the effective handover of projects by producing the necessary documentation and co-ordination and closure of snagging items
Ongoing site attendance during the construction phase of projects is necessary with some weekend and out of hours working required during the project
Regular reporting of key project/portfolio KPI's/measures at site level.
Occasional site attendance at weekends
Expected Experience and Required Skills
Minimum 3 years' experience in an Engineering role within an FMCG manufacturing environment (Mechanical or EC&I)
Overall knowledge and understanding of their engineering discipline including installation and maintenance methodologies
Experience of planning and implementing improvement initiatives and supporting delivery of projects
Ability to resolve problems and implement solutions
Attention to detail and insistence on the highest standards of installation and workmanship
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
+ Resilience to define and deliver project throughout the full life cycle of the project.
+ The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads
+ Good organisational and interpersonal skills
+ Competent oral and written communicator
+ Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, Teams and Sharepoint, and SAP.
+ Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards such as HASAWA, CDM2015, Control of Asbestos regulations 2012, EHEDG standards
