WHAT TO EXPECT

An exciting Lead Engineer opportunity has arisen within the Steering, Wheels and Tyres Group in Chassis Engineering to lead the architecture and definition of future vehicle platforms and models. As a Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will liaise between Program and Steering, Wheels, Tyres and TPMS teams as commodity Specialists. This is a great opportunity for a technically minded individual with strong project management skills who can communicate complex ideas and can work collaboratively to find balanced cross functional solutions by positively challenging new ideas.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Forward Model Architecture Squad AGILE Ceremonies.
  • Become single point of contact between Program Teams and Steering, Wheels & Tyres Group.
  • Balance Program and Engineering constraints preparing decision matrices and presenting recommendations.
  • Highlight and report project risks and obstacles and escalate to Chapter Lead and Senior Manager when required.
  • Identification of product interfaces and early detection of incompatibilities.
  • Communicate new model updates with the wider Steering, Wheels, Tyres and TPMS Group.
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Essential:
  • Deep understanding of the engineering of complex mechatronics systems within the automotive sector.
  • Deep understanding of engineering tools and foundation documents such as FMEA, SCSS, P-Diagram, etc.
  • Proven experience of stakeholder management at all levels.
  • Organisation skills and ability to process large volumes of multidisciplinary information.
  • Planning and delivery of complex cross functional projects using gateway based process.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Steering, Wheels, Tyres and TPMS commodities.
  • JIRA and Confluence toolsets.
  • DOORS RMDV tools.
  • Previous AGILE Product Owner experience.
