Job Description

Brightsparks, an industry-leading agency specialising in behaviour change for social good, is seeking an experienced and values-aligned Programme Manager to join our growing team on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 6 to 9 months, with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small portfolio of purpose-driven projects focused on organisational consultancy, employer brand and recruitment, and net zero carbon reduction, working with major clients in the charity and public sectors.

This role is ideal for a Programme or Project Manager with experience in sectors such as health, social care, the NHS, charity, or sustainability, who thrives in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment. You'll be responsible for end-to-end programme oversight, working closely with our operations team and Directors to deliver meaningful outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams.

The position is based on a hybrid working model, with dedicated in-office days each week at our York City Centre location alongside opportunities for remote working. The role offers full-time hours (35 hours per week), with salary dependent on experience and negotiable accordingly. We're looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:



To manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, clients and partners in order to successfully deliver the projects that Brightsparks has been commissioned to undertake.

To attend project meetings and planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders and represent Brightsparks within these meetings advocating for our work and contributing to agreed workstreams.

To work within Brightspark's project management infrastructure in order to effectively manage critical paths and project plans whilst escalating and managing risks and mitigations. To analyse information and data from projects and make recommendations on project actions and workstreams. To co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders the logistics of different aspects of projects, from planning meetings to venue hire and communications. To produce effective communications and lead the development of project reporting and final project deliverables. Commissioning and performance management of freelancers and other agencies to deliver aspects of projects.

Required Experience:



3 years experience successfully delivering projects with charity and/or public sector organisations. Experience of working in the areas of health and social care would be particularly desirable. 3 experience working in client facing roles or senior leadership roles. Experience working at the agency side is preferable but not essential.
