Job Overview


You will be accountable for planning and co-ordinating works and be the main contact point for the client and operatives. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of your allocated projects. Supporting the successful completion of works within agreed timescales, budgets, and standards.

As a rapidly growing business, no two days are ever the same so what you do will vary. The nature of our business and the pace we move at also means that priorities do change, and you will need to be comfortable with this.

You will be primarily based at the Podington depot with national travel requirements dependant on the location of our schemes.

Responsibilities



Plan, manage, and coordinate live projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safe working practices. Develop Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Health & Safety documentation. Ensure workforce compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, including test and inspection plans. Collaborate with procurement to secure material approvals and place orders on time. Prepare and brief Job Packs for site operatives, ensuring project scope is clear. Manage project resources (labour, plant, and materials), monitoring productivity against programme and performance against budget. Review and approve operatives' site diaries and timesheets. Attend client meetings and build relationships with the site team. Oversee change management, working with the commercial team to track and administer changes, including redundant materials. Manage document control, including site records, as-builts, and O&M manual submissions. Conduct Toolbox Talks, site safety audits and quality inspections. Handle line management duties for Operatives such as absence, inductions, PDRs and training.

Skills



Essential



A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role or equivalent transferable skills Good knowledge of series 1200, 1300 & 1400 of the specification for highways works Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or IOSH Managing Safely CSCS Card Competent in the use of Microsoft word and excel Excellent communication, people and team management skills Ability to lead and motivate the team by demonstrating the right behaviours, ensuring the culture aligns with company values.

Desirable



Working knowledge of CDM regulations Project Management experience including cost control, budgeting and programme Higher Education qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Appointed Persons - Lifting Temporary Works Co-ordinator Knowledge of NEC form of contract Knowledge of Microsoft Project
