Project Manager - Asset Intelligence

London

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the Asset Intelligence team at Galliford Try.

This position will report to the Senior Project Manager or directly to the Head of Operations, where you will be managing various specialist projects from tender through to completion, on time, within budget and to the required specifications.

This role will be key to the growth strategy of this area of the business. To support the growth strategy, the successful candidate will be provided with a Personal Development Plan and dedicated training and mentoring to support and advance their career successfully to Senior Project Manager.

What you will be doing:

  • Review of contractual requirements prior to project initiation to ensure delivery against time, cost and quality
  • Identify, mitigate and manage risks associated with project delivery
  • Management of stakeholder communication including weekly reporting on project progress and financial performance where necessary
  • To coordinate and liaise with the design team, contractors and the wider project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, assign and check work completed
  • Provide safe working conditions for all site operatives and visitors by ensuring that all works are carried out in compliance with Project Management and Work Control Plans and the Galliford Try Health & Safety policy
  • To ensure relevant and effective communication is maintained with customers at all times
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of subcontractors (and materials) to fit within the parameters of the programme
  • Ensure the design is developed and approved in sufficient time to allow timely procurement of subcontract packages
  • Ensure all identified Suppliers are, \xe2\x80\x9cOn boarded\xe2\x80\x9d.
  • Identify potential problems before they become an issue, obtain all necessary information in good time, monitor progress including preparation of short-term programmes, act to correct deviations all to achieve and improve the contract programme
  • Provide cash flow forecast and revenue profiles, seeking approval as and when necessary from the senior team where projects deviate from plan
  • Input and assist the Quantity Surveyor with the monitoring of the expenditure of preliminaries and advise on any deviation from the plan
  • Conduct progressive inspections to ensure compliance with the company quality systems and work toward zero defects at practical completion
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures, identifying areas of risk and reporting any faults to the appropriate department
  • Direct members of site team to organise and co-ordinate the works to ensure all trades are working economically
  • Ensure that all site waste is dealt with in accordance with current best practice and legislation
  • Ensure welfare facilities are adequate and maintained to minimum company standards \xc2\xb7 Ensure a collaboration ethos is applied throughout the project
  • Assist the bid teams with the production of case studies

  • Excellent IT skills and experience using Microsoft suite software
  • A commercial focus to ensure projects are delivered on budget, on time and to agreed quality standards
  • Experience of financial/resource forecasting and planning to anticipate future requirements and to mitigate risk
  • Understanding of administering NEC3/4 and JCT contracts
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
