Job Description

On behalf of EANI, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based in Belfast.



EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.



As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:



To act as Project Manager/ Project Sponsor/ Senior Responsible Owner on any projects as directed by the Head of Service and Locality Manager. To co-ordinate and manage in-house technical teams and Clerk of Works and external managed services teams and contractors to ensure projects are completed to the required standard, on time and within the allocated budget. To carry out the full range of professional duties of a Principal Designer under the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) and advise and monitor the Locality staff on issues relating to the CDM Regulations. Managing delivery of the Education Authority's annual minor works programme, from RIBA Stage 0 (Strategic Definition) to Stage 7 (In Use), ensuring projects are delivered within the agreed cost and time parameters and in compliance with specification and statutory requirements. The post holder will be responsible for supervising a large number of highly qualified external consultants from within the construction industry i.e. Architects, Mechanical, Electrical and Structural Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Clerk of Works and Principal Designers. This supervision will not be shared but the post holder will report to his/her Line Manager, he/she will also be expected to deputise for his/her Line Manager as and when required. The post holder may supervise Architectural Technicians, Students and Administrative Staff.

Essential:



A Project Management qualification or similar experience in delivering construction projects. Experience in similar construction industry roles - Quantity Surveyor, Building Surveyor, Architect, etc. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Competent in the use of Microsoft packages, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook and Project. Ideally, some experience using AutoCAD.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
