Project Manager

to lead the successful delivery of cutting-edge defence protection products, including armour plates, ballistic shields, helmets, and bomb disposal suits.





In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of technically complex projects across our

Composite and Armour Systems business

, playing a vital role in protecting lives on the front line.

JOB DUTIES

Lead the strategic and day-to-day management

of all assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to budget, while meeting quality and regulatory standards.

Coordinate cross-functional teams

, ensuring alignment of resources and capabilities to project needs.

Collaborate with engineering and design teams

to define and capture technical requirements using structured work breakdown methodologies.

Provide technical direction

to ensure system designs meet customer specifications and comply with relevant quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Oversee engineering and design activities

to ensure final deliverables meet defined requirements and performance expectations.

Identify

and manage engineering change

, initiating and directing change requests as necessary to support project goals.

Manage the full product lifecycle

from bid and project initiation through development, verification, and into production.

Support root cause analysis and issue resolution

across design, production, and in-service phases.

Collaborate with Production and Quality teams

to identify corrective actions and maintain high product integrity.

Ensure all workstream leads

are aligned on project requirements, responsibilities, and timelines.

Deliver

accurate

and

timely

progress reporting

, both internally and to external stakeholders.

Build and sustain strong, long-term customer relationships

, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Develop and

maintain

project governance documentation

, including Project Management Plans, to ensure project viability and compliance.

Monitor and manage project risks and opportunities

, ensuring appropriate mitigation or capitalisation actions are taken.

Lead or contribute to bid and proposal activities

, collaborating with the bid management team to define winning strategies.

Own and manage project budgets

, supported by project accounting, and provide accurate financial forecasts highlighting risks and opportunities.


EXPERIENCE

Educated to degree level or relevant work-based experience. A High level of technical proficiency underpinned by formal technical/engineering qualifications Experienced Project Management professional with strong leadership skills & demonstrable track record in successful project setup, execution & delivery Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness Proficient in all Microsoft packages, including MS Project A self-starter who can work independently and effectively under minimal supervision. Knowledge and experience in the effective use of Project Management tools and techniques Ability to quickly identify the critical path and mitigate risks as they are identified. Ability to create effective working relationships within a challenging environment, and leading multifunctional teams. Ability to communicate (and report) at all levels within the business.
Strong negotiation skills with customers, management, peers, and subordinates
