Steve Vick International (SVI) is dedicated to delivering cost-saving solutions for damaged, redundant, or outdated pipework. Since its foundation in 1981, SVI has been at the forefront in developing products and techniques for the repair, renovation and decommissioning of pipes. Predominantly our work has been in the gas industry but increasingly we are undertaking projects in the water and nuclear sectors.

As Project Manager, you will join a growing team in this newly established role. The role requires managing the execution and control of technical projects, ensuring they meet customer requirements while also minimising risks for the business.

The successful candidate will be able to establish and adhere to best practice and carry out their role in compliance with established safety, quality, environmental and security standards, together with meeting contractual obligations.

Role Purpose



The role is designed to deliver optimal customer satisfaction and strengthen SVI's reputation in a safety critical environment through the effective management of complex and technically demanding decommissioning projects.

Our new Project Manager will be responsible for successfully managing projects at various stages, showcasing their expertise across stakeholder management, working with third party vendors, suppliers and contractors.

To excel in the role of Project Manager, you must demonstrate high standards of safety, quality and compliance with regulatory requirements within the nuclear industry.

Success in the role would also be viewed as the ability to challenge conventional methods in decommissioning projects while ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to budget.

You will role model clear communication, ensuring accurate information exchange and alignment amongst team members, together with preparing regular project reports for senior management which provide visibility into project progress.

Taking a solutions-driven and creative approach to meet business needs, you will organise and direct the nuclear team according to individual project requirements.

Competencies, Skills and Knowledge



Proficient in MS Office with exceptional written communication skills

Recognised qualification in both Project Management and IOSH 'Managing Safely' or other relevant health and safety qualification

Knowledge and experience of technical projects and on-site work carried out in a safety critical environment

Capable of organising and independently prioritising tasks with a high degree of self-motivation

An ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams including technicians and support staff

Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals and to converse with staff at all levels

Strong financial and commercial acumen, with familiarity and understanding of Contract Conditions and the NEC contract form

A strong desire to maintain continuous professional development through regular training

Willing to travel and work away from home in various field locations and adhere to strict safety protocols

The successful candidate must be able to achieve security clearance of SC and eventually DV level

Desirable Skills



Qualified to degree level, HND or experience in an engineering discipline

Either experience or qualification in APM

Knowledge of ISO standards and industry-specific regulations

Key Duties/Responsibilities



Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders

Deliver projects on time, to budget and ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards

Manage the project risk register, identifying potential risks and develop mitigation strategies

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols throughout the project lifestyle

Coordinate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals

Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources

Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications

Regularly review work in progress, ensuring optimal presentation and compliance with customer expectations

Build positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, third parties and other stakeholders, managing day to day interactions and addressing issues promptly

Lead project and client meetings

Assign tasks, set deadlines and monitor team performance, providing technical guidance and support as needed

Problem-solve and think laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the business

Manage development opportunities in accordance with project road map

Prepare and present regular project reports, status updates and performance metrics to the senior management team
