Key Responsibilities of this role
As Project Manager you will be responsible for:
Planning and coordinating the implementation of public protective procedures. This will necessitate assessing and reviewing existing policies, procedures and guidance; and developing, delivering and implementing any required relevant enhancement to fulfil HES' commitment to public and staff safety and security, specifically with respect of the Act.
Planning and coordinating the assessment, delivery, implementation and operation of any appropriate physical security measures to ensure compliance with the Act, managing cross-directorate collaboration and ensuring alignment with operational teams, the Physical Security Team, and external stakeholders such as local authorities and contractors. Due to the nature of the HES estate specific consideration in relation to planning consents for scheduled monuments is essential.
Establishing project governance structures to monitor progress, escalate risks, and ensure timely delivery of statutory requirements.
Overseeing and coordinating essential activities within the project such as financial planning, development and delivery of learning and awareness internal and external communications, operational activities at sites particularly in relation to mitigating disruption to visitors, competing on-site resource demands in relation to any physical security installations, stakeholder and contractor engagement.
Providing reports to senior leadership, including workstream lead, the ELT and the SCIP Programme Board, on project milestones, budget requirements, and compliance status.
Ensuring that all associated documentation is available and auditable by the Security Industry Authority, (SIA) who will be the regulatory inspection body.

Essential:
Proven experience in project management across multiple domains with an understanding of project lifecycle and governance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
Experience in delivering projects requiring the management of multiple stakeholders.
Experienced in managing subcontractors and ensuring delivery to timescales and budgets
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to focus on solutions rather than problems.
Intermediate level of competence in Microsoft packages (Visio, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint & Teams) and Adobe packages (ideally Acrobat)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
