The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified Mechanical Project Engineer with proven experience in managing M&E works from concept to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the delivery of mechanical engineering projects within the Leisure Capital Programme.
Support the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of capital improvement projects across multiple sites.
Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
Oversee M&E installations, commissioning, and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial controls for assigned projects.
Monitor project progress, risks, and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Ensure all work meets required technical specifications, health and safety standards, and sustainability objectives.
Prepare and present project documentation, reports, and updates to senior stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives across the capital programme.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
or a related discipline.
Proven experience in delivering M&E or mechanical capital projects from inception to completion.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning.
Excellent project management, budgeting, and stakeholder communication skills.
Familiarity with CDM Regulations and health and safety standards in construction.
Ability to coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards professional registration.
Experience managing capital projects within the public sector or leisure facilities environment.
Knowledge of energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and sustainability in building services.
