Role Overview
The Project Manager - Pensions Dashboard Implementation will report directly to the Lead Programme Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
: Lead the day-to-day management of the project and project team, providing clear direction, structure, and oversight. Establish effective project controls and select appropriate delivery methodologies tailored to each project stage.
Delivery Management
: Drive the successful delivery of project outcomes, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Implementation Leadership
: Lead the end-to-end implementation of complex, national systems and services--ensuring not just technical delivery, but also the successful integration of people, processes, and operations into business-as-usual. Champion a holistic approach to implementation that supports long-term sustainability and service readiness.
Budget Oversight
: Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and value for money.
Resource Planning
: Identify required skills and capabilities, allocate resources effectively, and support the development of a medium-sized project team.
Benefits Realisation
: Ensure delivery of the benefits and outcomes outlined in the Business Case, tracking progress and impact.
Stakeholder Engagement
: Build and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, to ensure alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle.

: Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues. Develop mitigation strategies and escalate where necessary. Coordinate with related projects to manage interdependencies.

: Participate in assurance reviews and implement recommendations to strengthen project delivery and outcomes.
Change Control
: Implement effective change management processes to manage and document changes to project scope, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
Team Support & Development
: Provide coaching, guidance, and support to project team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Support to Central Change Function
: Contribute to wider change initiatives and support the development of new change processes and frameworks across MaPS.
Business Case Development
: Contribute to the development of robust Business Cases, working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders.

Person specification
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Qualified Project/Programme Management Professional
: Holds a recognised qualification such as PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent, with a strong foundation in project delivery methodologies.
Proven Experience in Project Delivery and Implementation
: Demonstrated success in managing complex projects or programmes, including leading end-to-end implementation.
Strategic Planning & Resource Management
: Skilled in securing resources, planning and scheduling, and managing teams to deliver large-scale change initiatives effectively.
Stakeholder & Change Leadership
: Experience working across government departments and business groups, with the ability to align delivery with policy objectives, cascade vision, and drive change through teams.
Risk, Issue & Benefits Management
: Strong track record in overseeing risk and issue management, and in monitoring long-term delivery of benefits against business cases.

Flexible Working
At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work, this role may also require occasional travel to London. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered.
