What is the Role?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join Neos Networks to deliver projects for a large Utilities customer to meet their specific commercial & contractual requirements, or expand, develop or optimise the Neos network, ensuring we exceed our customers' expectations.
Reporting to a Portfolio or Programme Manager, you'll be responsible for managing multiple small to medium sized projects throughout their entire lifecycle, including scoping, design, execution, and handover. You'll manage the daily activities of internal and contractor resources, as well being responsible for project documentation, risks and issues, financial reporting, process management and escalation management.
The role will also entail working alongside all key stakeholders in the project delivery lifecycle, specifically the Design & Architecture functions, Field Engineering and Operations and Provisioning. to ensure that the customers business requirements are met. A previous history and background of Project Management in these areas is essential.
The successful candidate will be interfacing across many levels of stakeholders within the business internally and within the customer organisation. The candidate will be confident in driving a matrix project team and chairing project review meetings to make certain that tasks and activities remain on track and that requirements are being managed throughout.
Key Accountabilities:End-to-End Project Delivery: Accountable for the comprehensive delivery of projects, working with cross-functional teams within agreed scope, budget, and timelines. Operate autonomously with minimal day-to-day support.
Project Governance: Establish and maintain appropriate governance in alignment with internal and SSE processes. This includes organising and leading project team review meetings, kick-off sessions, and project steering groups both internally and with external third-party delivery partners or suppliers.
Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management: Effectively manage all delivery risks, issues, and dependencies to mitigate impacts on delivery. Ensure each risk, issue, and dependency has a clear management strategy, with agreed ownership across relevant business areas. Oversee escalation paths and issue resolution processes.
Customer Expectation Management: Ensure customers have a clear understanding of project delivery expectations and scope. Ensure that projects meet these expectations.
Documentation and Reporting: Produce and maintain project documentation, financial reporting, process management, and escalation management in line with appropriate standards and governance.
Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of project financial management, including reporting, forecasting, raising and managing financial budgets, and ensuring effective financial management.
What do I need?Demonstratable Telecommunications Project Management Experience: Involving small to medium scale technology deliveries, across multiple telecommunications technologies, ensuring all technologies are deployed and tested to agreed operational standards to facilitate Customer and Business Acceptance.
Drive, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent skills in these areas are critical, as the successful candidate will be liaising across varied stakeholders and project team members and up to 'Heads of Department' level, both internal and externally, including both customers and suppliers, to deliver all project requirements, revenue and customer commitments.
Project Management Best Practices: Excellent understanding of project management best practices with evidence of driving best practices across the company.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management: Strong skills in managing relationships and stakeholders, both internal and external to Neos Networks.
Ability to Work Under Pressure: Ability to prioritise, keep to deadlines, and be resilient to setbacks.
Alignment to Corporate Values: Strong alignment with corporate values, curiosity, and high level of corporate citizenship. Active and strong team player.
Multi-Discipline Project Delivery: Experience in delivering projects in multi-discipline models, utilising vendor and partner resources.
Experience within Utilities sector: Familiarity and experience with utilities sector businesses.
