Brief Description
We're seeking a proactive and construction based experienced Project Manager to lead our Property Construction project management team within the Southern Region. Property's mandate is to take commercial advantage of Network Rail Assets to generate revenue to be reinvest back into the railway.
As a Project Manager, you will work within the Construction and Maintenance Team managing mainly complex multi-disciplinary construction projects from development, through delivery and close out. This includes converting existing Network Rail infrastructure into retail experience. You will have line management responsibilities for at least 4 Scheme Project Managers delivering around 20 million of Capex Projects annually. This role also provide a potential pathway for progression into higher management position in the future.

About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities -
1. Deliver the project(s) safely to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), applicable Railway Group, Network Rail company standards and other specific legislation including construction design management (CDM) Regulations.
2. Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, including project monitoring and reporting systems in accordance with Railway Group, Network Rail company standards and guidelines.
3. Participate in the development of supply strategies and framework contracts.
4. Provide detailed input for compilation of the business plan and production of the possessions plan.
5. Control project change, risks and contingency within the project life cycle and provide all cost, contingency and programme details to enable the Sponsor to obtain authorisation for portfolios/projects.
6. Provide a safe working environment in the execution of work directly under the post holder's responsibility, including development of project safety plans and other associated documentation.
7. Act as CDM Co-ordinator as directed.
8. Identify training needs in safety, technical and management areas for the personnel reporting to the post holder and contribute to their personal development.
9. Undertake accident investigations when remitted to by the relevant designated competent person.
10. Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.
11. Deliver all works in accordance with CDM 2015 and relevant Network Rail & Railway Group Standards, to undertake the role of Client under CDM, to discharge all relevant Client duties, including but not limited to appointing a suitable Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Relevant successful experience in project management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Detailed knowledge of safety regulations (particularly CDM)
Team leader capable of motivating the team
Commercial and financial understanding and knowledge
Accident Investigation experience
Desirable
Membership of the Association for Project Management or other professional body
Six Sigma Yellow Belt
A degree or equivalent
Knowledge of investment processes and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of project and contract management
