Job Description

Thalia Waste Management is recruiting a Project Manager to lead technical projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they're delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. In this role you'll work alongside our operations, engineering, finance, compliance and HSEQ teams, as well as external contractors and regulatory bodies, to drive successful project outcomes.

As our new Project Manager, you will be working from our Isle of Wight plant two days/week with flexibility to work from home and travel to our North Yorkshire, Milton Keynes and Cambridgeshire sites.



Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager you will:



Develop full project scopes; maintain detailed plans, schedules & budgets Lead cross-functional teams, coordinate on-site construction activities, supervise subcontractors Risk Management: Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues Ensure adherence to environmental, health & safety regulations, conduct site inspections Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, local authorities and the Environment Agency Provide regular status updates to senior management; conduct post-project evaluations

Required qualifications and experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science or related; attained or working towards PRINCE2 or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent Chartered Engineer status (desirable) Proven track record managing complex technical projects (ideally in energy, waste or construction) Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera); ability to interpret technical drawings Strong people-management and stakeholder-engagement skills; outstanding verbal and written communication Able to spend two days per week on the Isle of Wight, with remaining time working remotely and travelling to other Thalia sites as required

In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
