The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.



An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment and Reporting Division in the Assessment Operations Unit for an ongoing full-time position. The Project Officer reports to the Senior Project Manager Examination Planning and Logistics.


Salary: $76,817 - $93,275 (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%)*

(Shift work will be required at certain times of the year, flexible work conditions may be available)*
Usual work location: VCAA Assessment Centre, Coburg*


Role purpose





This role works as part of a team responsible for coordinating the delivery of VCE external assessment in Victoria and offshore. This includes the development and implementation of procedures to effectively monitor dispatch and receipt of VCE external assessment materials. The main components of the role include but are not limited to:


planning and preparation of online applications and documentation that supports the delivery of VCE external assessments. provision of authoritative advice around rules, procedures and operational policies related to VCE external assessments to stakeholders. collection, maintenance and processing of information to ensure the accuracy of the data on the VCAA's corporate database. assisting with the preparation and hosting of online briefings and training. responding to stakeholder queries regarding examination logistics during delivery periods and the preparation of reports, emails and correspondence to reflect these activities. contributing to the development and review of operational manuals, processes and procedures to identify areas of enhancement and improvement. leading a team responsible for the processing of VCE external assessment materials.

About the unit





The Assessment Operations unit is responsible for:


logistical and administrative processes associated with the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments development, implementation and review of the VCE examination timetable and associated assessment schedules training and monitoring of sessional staff appointed to mark VCE external assessments managing the marking of externally assessed VCE assessments including the GAT developing, managing the implementation and review of the VCAA Special Provision policy and procedures
