Operations Readiness Planner

Location: Surrey, UK

Reports to: Project Operations Manager

Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Operations Readiness Planner to join our team on a major development project in West Africa.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operations planning and scheduling, as well as experience with ADO and Power BI. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development of the Operations Readiness Plan (ORP).
  • Participate in the Start-Up requirement scoping exercise.
  • Coordinate and lead the ORP development workshop ensuring key stakeholders are engaged.
  • Author the Operations Readiness Plan document.
  • Coordinate and develop a detailed ORP schedule for approval prior to the execution FM; then further prepare appropriate detail and summary Ops Readiness Schedules consistent with Operations Work Breakdown Structure ( i.e. Sub Plan WBS Structure).
  • Update activity progress of the Operations Readiness plan through engagement with the POM team, project team, and regional SPAs.
  • Maintain the monthly performance management report and performance management toolset, including S-Curve generation for submission to the POM.
  • Coordinate the monthly performance check-in meetings.
  • Develop interfaces with the other parts of the project to maintain a coherent and well-established Operational Readiness Schedule. Participate in schedule risk analysis.
  • Support Operations and Commissioning Integration plan.
  • Maintain an effective understanding of the interface technical architecture and how the different applications are being integrated to support the business process in the Project and Operate phase (i.e. P6, MSP, CMMS, Excel).
  • Work alongside Operations Readiness planners from the Discipline to develop common tools and ways of working, with a focus on digitized tools.
  • Contribute to the ORP Digitization Plan.
  • Support the transition of ORP to start-up assurance activity.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in a STEM subject, Engineering/Maintenance desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in planning and scheduling in operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with internal and external personnel at all levels in a field or office setting.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Prior experience as a planner and or scheduler
  • ADO and Power bi experience is desirable
