Job Description

Purcell are seeking a Project Scheduler to support our growing portfolio of NEC-based projects.


This role would suit a highly organised and motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills.


Working collaboratively with project teams, you will assist in the preparation, maintenance and reporting of project programmes in accordance with NEC3 and NEC4 contractual requirements. By taking initiative and providing accurate programme information, you will help the team plan and track progress, identify early warnings, and support timely decision-making to ensure delivery against agreed timescales and budgets.

Responsibilities





Support Project Managers and Project Leads in preparing, updating and submitting NEC compliant programmes. Assist in developing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and activity coding for clear programme structure. Prepare and update detailed programmes showing key milestones, interfaces, deliverables, and completion dates. Liaise with the client team, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather progress information for regular programme updates. Analyse and report on the impact of early warnings, compensation events, delays, and other programme changes. Produce visual and tabular reporting outputs for progress reviews, risk meetings and internal reporting. Maintain forecast models for resource usage and productivity across multiple concurrent projects. Support the development of pre-contract and tender-stage programme submissions. Contribute to planning workshops, risk reviews, and lessons-learned sessions. Ensure all programmes and updates align with NEC contractual requirements for float, time-risk allowance, and logic.


Required Experience



Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (experience with other scheduling tools is beneficial). Proven experience in programme management or scheduling within construction, engineering, or architectural projects. Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and the preparation of compliant programmes. Understanding of project lifecycles from inception through completion and close-out.

Desired Skills





Degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, or equivalent professional experience. Experience working across multidisciplinary design and delivery teams. Ability to manage multiple project programmes concurrently. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present schedule information clearly to to both technical and non-technical audiences.
