As owners of Wales and England's electricity transmission network we are responsible for the decarbonisation of the energy system. This is an essential part of the country's Net Zero journey, and in order to make it happen we need to successfully deliver a portfolio of new, green, infrastructure projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing the electricity network so that we can connect and transport more renewable and low carbon energy to our homes and businesses, to enable the UK to meet its climate, energy security commitments and net zero target.
You'll be National Grid's representative working as part of the Infrastructure Development & Delivery (ID&D) team, working on projects around the country, which includes development and delivery works associated with Substation works and OHL refurbishment works and other associated works within the ID &D portfolio.
Essentially, you'll ensure all site-based construction activities delivered by our principal contractors are efficiently managed in accordance with National Grid policies and procedures. You'll administer the duties of 'Client representative' with a keen eye on safety, environmental, sustainability and the quality of the installation.
You'll also be required to support NG site teams to ensure CDM regs are met, provide support when ordering plant and equipment, undertake regular safety audits/walks and hold coordination meetings with all parties on site during project delivery. In addition, you'll complete 'Site Visit Reports' or facilitate site visits with designers.
This role covers projects in the Central region with travel to sites and the ability to stay away essential. You will ideally be based in the Midlands area.

What you'll need
Project Management skills, including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
A proven track record in electricity (or comparable) industry construction, with previous experience of project site management.
Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices, and CDM regs and quality management systems as supervisor under NEC.
Client Representative experience.
SSSTS, SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
Full driving licence.
