The Manchester College is seeking a compassionate and resilient Project Worker to join our Alternative Provision team based within a Pupil Referral Unit. This role is ideal for someone who's passionate about supporting young people facing barriers to education. You'll work closely with learners to build trust, boost engagement, and help them achieve their potential in a safe, supportive setting. We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw Campus to join our Foundation Learning Department as a Project Worker (Alternative Provision) on a fixed-term (until July 2026), full-time (35 hours per week) term-time only (over 42 weeks) basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience





To be successful in this role, you will need:


Relevant Youth and Community Work qualification or equivalent. Relevant appropriate experience working in a youth related environment. Significant experience of working with school-age learners within alternative education settings. The ability to work independently to achieve positive outcomes for learners. Ability to foster a culture of positive teamwork. Confident IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Flexible and pragmatic approach. D1 driving licence and ability to drive college minibus.
