Equans is looking for an Projects Manager - Fire Systems to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Projects Manager will be an integral member of the site team, the Project Manager oversees the delivery of life cycle and major & minor projects, ensuring works are completed to a high standard and in line with all current compliance and statutory standards.
Developing concise technical specifications and work scopes for all aspects of the sites fire systems to take to tender stage through to completion. Ensuring all aspects of the project delivery, including, Planning, Client Meetings, Service Partner management and documentation is completed diligently. You must set up and maintain strong relationships with clients and operational teams, adopt and highlight a collaborative approach to delivery and resolving issues.
What will you deliver?
Management and supervision of life cycle and facilities based minor and major projects
Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required
Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Quality Plans and other documents as required
Management and supervision of service partners & third parties needed as part of project work, including Health & Safety, Site inductions, Setting to work, Issuing permits, and security clearance.
Ensuring effective communications and working relationships are enhanced with key stakeholders by regularly exceeding the standard of information and work delivered
Undertake
Support the Senior Project Manager with day-to-day activities needed to deliver work in line with the overall project plan including safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives
Develop effective working relationships with appropriate parties at all levels
Ability to accurately produce and analyse technical drawings and produce Operation & Maintenance Manuals
Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are managed accurately and in time ensuring a high standard of delivery to the business and client
Identify, implement and comply with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company and client procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, keeping up to date knowledge including CDM regulations
Prioritisation of work schedules and projects, delivering on time in full and to budget

Who are we looking for?
Proven experience in a relevant role in Active/Passive Fire Systems, Technical Services, and facilities operations.
Experience within a Healthcare environment is advantageous.
Good knowledge of (S)HTM's, Current Standards and Regulations relating to Active/Passive Fire System
Good understanding of legislative compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory; Power BI and/or other data visualization tools is a plus.
Project management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2, Agile etc or willingness to work towards SMSTS
Suitable relevant project experience within engineering/construction projects, including demonstrable evidence of the application of project management processes
Proven knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act
Budget monitoring, commercial awareness and experience at managing contractors
Previous work experience in the nuclear sector / industrial environment advantageous
Strong understanding of the need for quality within the project environment and familiarity with the use and structure of Quality Assurance documentation
Proven ability in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Suitable relevant technical experience including the preparation of technical documentation, the review and approval of technical proposals and procedures, experience of construction, testing and commissioning activities
Experience of supervising and setting contractors/sub-contractors to work in their roles and experience in leading a project team
Strong networking ability in order to keep up to date with innovations/new practices that will add value
Role requires PVG disclosure.
