Property Claims Handler (quality Assurance)

Job Description

Property Claims Handler (Quality Assurance)

About MPL Claims Management

At MPL Claims, we're passionate about making the claims process smoother, smarter, and more customer friendly. Founded in 2018 and now part of the ERGO Group, we act as an in-house third-party administrator (TPA), managing a variety of claims, Motor, Property, and Liability for both internal and external clients.

We're a tech-led business that designs and builds our own claims management solutions from the ground up. Our innovative platform helps us deliver a modern, seamless experience for customers while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness for our partners.

The Opportunity

This is a hybrid position that combines claims adjusting with technical auditing within our Property Claims function.

The primary focus of the role is to perform audits on claims handling activities undertaken by MPL Claims Handlers across various property schemes, covering both personal and commercial lines.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting spot checks, monthly handler audits and leakage audits. Producing clear audit outcomes and reports. Identifying non-compliance and areas for improvement. Providing constructive feedback and recommending corrective actions. Analyse audit data to identify trends, patterns, or systemic issues, and present insights and recommendations to key stakeholders to drive quality improvement. Work closely with the Learning & Development team and Operational Managers to help design and deliver coaching and training programmes that enhance quality standards and technical capability. Ensure adherence to the MPL Quality Assurance Framework and contribute to its ongoing development and effectiveness. During periods of increased demand, you will support the operational team with case handling. While you won't maintain a dedicated caseload, you will assist peers by reviewing insurance policies, investigating claims, and liaising with policyholders, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure claims are handled efficiently and fairly. Negotiate settlements and manage the claims lifecycle to resolution, maintaining clear communication with all parties throughout.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience handling Property Claims (buildings and contents) up to 50,000. Experience handling Commercial Property Claims (preferred). Prior experience conducting audits within a claims or insurance environment. Proficiency with claims management software (advantageous). Excellent verbal and written communication skills for delivering audit findings and collaborating with teams. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and compliance gaps. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess data and drive improvements. Sound understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in claims management.
