Do you have experience using databases and GIS software? Do you have excellent decision-making, reporting, and communication skills? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Household Properties team as a Data Property Technician.

This role offers a hybrid of office and home working (the option to work part of your week from home becomes available after completion of an initial training period), but you can also choose to work full time in the office if that is your preference.

What you\'ll do

Here in the Household Properties team, we are responsible for the property and meter data for 2.9 million customers across the South West of England.

As a Data Property Technician, you will process asset data for all new water and sewerage connections alongside changes to existing property and meter records.

These records are used by Wessex Water, our domestic billing company Pelican and non-household retailers to support our customers.

You will be responsible for:

  • processing and reviewing data for the new connections process
  • undertaking, monitoring, reporting and coordinating the daily processing of property and meter data from around the company as well as external sources
  • maintaining existing data within customer billing, meter reading and GIS to required data standards
  • using specialised GIS software to analyse and report on asset data
  • ensuring that performance targets set both internally and externally are met
  • communicating with various stakeholders to resolve queries and investigate billing arrangements.
What you\'ll need

We are looking for a highly organised individual who has excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You will be self-motivated, use your own initiative, successfully work under moderate supervision, and communicate confidently with other team members and colleagues throughout the company.

Ideally, you\'ll have:
  • experience using Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams and SQL query tools
  • experience working with large data sets
  • experience working towards performance targets
  • an awareness of the water industry.
