Proposals Engineer - MCS

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Proposals Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try.

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Proposals Engineer to join Galliford Try\'s MCS Control Systems team in the Environment division to deliver circa \xc2\xa310m of projects under multiple Frameworks and Non Water Framework clients per annum covering the United Kingdon.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the role of the Proposals Engineer is primarily to:

\xc2\xb7 Prepare and issue tenders to Customers based on Customer specifications and in line with meeting Company margin expectations

\xc2\xb7 Review tender documents, design solutions, electrical specifications and engage with other internal departments prior to developing proposal to ensure correct solution is delivered

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with interested internal departments on receipt of order and attend hand over meetings where necessary

\xc2\xb7 Attend site visits and tender review meetings where necessary

Task and Responsibilities:

The key objectives of the appointment are to:

\xc2\xb7 Assist in general tendering function administrative duties.

\xc2\xb7 To maintain a consistent order input level in accordance with agreed order input budget.

\xc2\xb7 To assist in the generation of initial enquiries from potential clients

\xc2\xb7 To liaise and discuss with the potential client in preparation of any enquiry documents and the assessment of various technical solutions to the enquiry.

\xc2\xb7 To be responsible for the preparation of tender documents ensuring that:

o The enquiry meets the agreed criteria for content, delivery time, and potential margins.

o The client agreed returns date is met.

o The Company\'s policy on financial margins are maintained for the tender.

o The potential cash flow from stage payments are acceptable to MCS Control Systems Limited.

o The final tender preparation is of a high-quality, fitting for this Company.

About You:

At least 2 years relevant experience.

\xc2\xb7 Experience working as part of a team.

\xc2\xb7 Experience working and interfacing directly with customers.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office - MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerPoint and MSOutlook.

Experience within the Water & Wastewater Sector.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in Industrial Automation.

\xc2\xb7 A good understanding of NEC Contracts.

\xc2\xb7 Project Management.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of SCADA & PLC systems

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of electrical systems.

About the Team:

Our Environment Business provides \'source to sea\' asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland working on both Frameworks and Standalone projects. Since AMP3 we have delivered in excess of \xc2\xa32bn assets for clients such as Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water and Scottish Water.
