About The Role




To support the Senior Proposition Manager for a designated Savings and Retirement proposition area(s) by delivering effective and efficient monitoring of the proposition(s), ensuring information & data can be used to add value to advisers and customers.


Drive and support development of the proposition, working collaboratively leading cross functional teams across the S&R business to as a key subject matter expert, to analyse, recommend and lead implementation of development initiatives working with the Senior Proposition Manager to improve performance and contribute to the S&R business achieving or exceeding its business plan.


Note - this is a 9 month FTC/Secondment, working out of our Hitchin offices.


Key accountabilities



Own the development and production of regular MI and reporting data on the

designated proposition area to provide insight into the market, business volumes and

positioning to support pro-active monitoring of the business across the value chain

(sales, marketing, pricing and service).

As required, leading the ownership, updating and maintenance and providing key

Proposition SME input to the product formal documents ensuring the tone of voice is fit

for purpose and the relevant insight and approvals are gained prior to any change.

Interpret and use complex data provided by Proposition Analysts to identify and

develop actionable steps to improve proposition and processes to support our adviser & customer base.

Develop SME insight from the analysis and information available to ensure the

proposition is meeting its targeted needs by, assessing performance against its key

performance indicators and plan expectations and generating in-depth analysis,

highlighting key variances or trends in performance and consistently recommending

specific areas for improvement.

Lead specific and agreed proposition change initiatives through to implementation,

working collaboratively across functional teams.

Through use of a thorough knowledge of the proposition and associated target markets

and distribution channels, operate as a key proposition lead and 'go to' subject matter

expert, to provide product related technical input, analysis and training to sales,

marketing and customer experience as required.

As an effective proposition champion, able to convey the value of the propositions

internally with high impact. Achieved through helping shape marketing plans,

development of formal documentation and digital content and support the Senior

Proposition Manager with producing professional presentations for external meetings,

Support and lead the effective management of third-party relationships - specifically with external research agencies. Develop analysis of competitor products in a decision ready format for use by cross functional stakeholders within the business. Consistently demonstrate a strong customer and risk culture evidenced through natural adherence to the expected control framework, leading the preparation of regular proposition reviews, timely renewal of product documentation, product risk assessments and resolution of audit actions and risk events.


Skills & Experience



Demonstrable awareness of the Savings and Retirement Market - with an established and thorough depth of technical expertise of relevant products, markets, systems and processes of the specific proposition(s) allocated. Self-learner - a desire and ability to constantly expand and deepen knowledge. Highly numerate, comfortable working with numbers and curious about the trends and insights these reveal - you will need to be able to evaluate data to see the patterns and make recommendations. Effective communication and persuasion skills - to enable presentation and resolution of complex technical issues with line management, often without supervision or need for referral. Good influencer and relationship builder - able to work across organisations collaboratively and able to hold others to account for their delivery responsibilities. Detail focussed, with strong attention to detail.. Self-motivated and be able to work under your own initiative with minimal supervision. Good motivator, ability to support & develop level 1 analysts within the team as they build their experience. Flexible and willing to work as part of a team, often lead initiatives and open to taking on new opportunities. Understanding of regulatory framework - within which business and products must operate, including FCA rules & regulations.
