The Company's commitment to quality is governed by the many accreditations it holds and compliance with ISO 17025 and ISO 17020. A new role has surfaced that will work with its already established business development team, with great mentoring of the incumbent candidate.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Executive to join our team and drive growth in our mineral and agricultural testing services.
The successful candidate will be provided with relevant training, and become responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting our services to prospective clients in the UK and Europe.
A full UK driving license is required,
this role is approximately
75% site-based at our Aintree Head Office and up to 25% field-based
for client visits and attend industry events/conferences/trade shows; UK and international travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
:
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets and expand market presence in the metal and mineral, agricultural and food testing sectors.
Identify and prospect potential clients through market research, networking, and targeted outreach efforts, particularly with traders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
Collaborate with internal teams, including laboratory operations and technical staff, to ensure seamless delivery of services and alignment with client requirements.
Prepare and deliver engaging presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients, showcasing our expertise, capabilities, and value proposition.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our services; national and international travel for client visits; network with key stakeholders, and stay abreast of industry developments.
Provide regular reports and updates to management on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field ideally (e.g., Business, Marketing, Science) is preferred but not essential.
Minimum of two to three years of proven experience in business development, sales, customer services and interface, or account management, preferably within the testing laboratory or the scientific services industry.
Some insights of ISO 17025 and ISO 17020 standards and regulations governing mineral and agricultural testing are desirable but not essential.
Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets, developing strategic partnerships, and driving business growth.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software
