MorMe Prosthetics is a family-run, UK-based enterprise founded in 2021. Our vision is to create handcrafted, hyper-realistic silicone prostheses that enable individuals to feel more like themselves. We specialise in gender-affirming silicone prosthetics with exceptional attention to detail, texture, and realism.
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Prosthetic Maker to join our production team. In this role you will craft, finish, and quality-assure silicone prosthetic devices in accordance with our high standards of realism. The role includes working closely with design, finishing, and packaging team members to help translate our vision into products that truly make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare moulds, mix silicone compounds, pour silicone, and de-mould finished items, colouring/matching our available skin tones
Perform finishing operations: trimming, gluing different elements, adding details (e.g., veins)
Conduct quality checks to ensure each piece meets our standards for realism
Maintain clean, safe and organised workspace, adhere to health & safety guidelines for silicone materials
Troubleshoot production issues (e.g., air bubbles, leaks, defects) and suggest improvements
Collaborate as part of a small team, communicate progress/status, and meet production deadlines
Potentially occasionally assist in prototyping new designs and materials under direction of the MD
Required Skills & Experience
Respect for and sensitivity to the gender-affirming nature of our product line and our community of users
A positive, inclusive attitude and ability to uphold the brand's values of affirmation and quality
Good manual dexterity, attention to detail and aesthetic sense (colour matching)
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, high-quality production team
Understanding of health & safety protocols in handling silicone materials and workshop processes
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Willingness to learn new techniques and iterate on design/production refinements
Desirable
Previous hands-on experience working with silicone, moulding or similar materials
A background in prosthetics manufacture, costume special effects, or silicone special-effects work
Experience in colour-matching, painting or aesthetic finishing of silicone/rubber items
Understanding of or interest in gender-affirming products and the market for prosthetics
