We have a special opportunity for a PSV minibus driver wanting to work part time to join our friendly school team.

Papillon House School is an independent special school for autistic children and young people aged 5-19 years.

Set in a wonderful location with extensive woodlands in Tadworth, Surrey, Papillon House School provides a relaxed and caring environment for all children. We have created an atmosphere whereby staff, children and all members of the family feel welcomed and valued.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a kind, reliable person with the patience to work with autistic children and young people, to undertake the role of PSV Minibus Driver. This is a part-time role working approximately 21 hours a week (4-5 hours each day from 9.45 am), School days only, with flexibility to work additional hours agreed in advance.

The role involves:

Transporting pupils to and from School, to various locations within the local area, in order to participate in offsite curriculum activities such as horseriding, swimming, cycling and visits to the local supermarket and cinema.

Maintenance and general upkeep of the minibus, ensuring it is kept clean and in good condition and reporting any additional work required immediately to the School business manager.

Refuel vehicle as required.

Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.

Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required. i.e. Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), First Aid at Work, Fire Marshal Training and Safeguarding Training.

This role involves daily non direct, contact with the children and young people in the School and holds responsibility for contributing to establishing and maintaining a safe environment both onsite and offsite in which children can learn and be listened to. This post does involve regulated activity.
