Job overview




Our dedicated team is seeking to recruit a fixed term or secondment opportunity for a Band 7 Psychological Therapist. This post will be covering maternity leave within the team for 12 months. We are seeking a therapist with an accredited core therapy training and experience working with individuals with complex or single event trauma and/or loss. Training and experience in delivering either Trauma-focused CBT or EMDR is desirable but not essential. The role involves delivering evidence-based interventions to support women and birthing people who have experienced mental health difficulties relating to their birth experience, including Birth Trauma, fear of childbirth (Tokophobia), baby loss and separation from their baby due to Children's Services involvement.



This fantastic opportunity has arisen to be involved in the continued development and delivery of a specialist birth trauma and perinatal loss service. The Lotus Maternal Therapeutic Outreach Service launched in June 2021 as a pilot site chosen to develop and trial a Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. Together with the wider perinatal service, the Lotus team was awarded 'Team of the Year' in the NSFT Staff Excellence Awards 2022. We are a small, dedicated team comprising of Clinical Psychologists, Peer Support Workers and Specialist Midwives, offering specialist assessment and psychological interventions to women and birthing people.




Main duties of the job




Do you have empathy and passion to support women experiencing perinatal trauma and/or loss? Do you have experience of working within perinatal services or an interest in perinatal mental health and willingness to learn more about working within this field?



This exciting opportunity is available to be part of a developing a service, working with the Lotus Maternal Therapeutic Outreach Team. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of the Psychological Therapy Services within NSFT.



Interventions currently offered by the team include CBT, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy and CAT. The role will involve liaising with other health care teams and supporting families with possible safeguarding risks.



The role will also include completing telephone triage and mental health assessments for new referrals.

Health or Social Care professional qualification RMN, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology, Diploma in Social Work or equivalent Postgraduate diploma in CBT or CAT or family therapy or equivalent #

Experience
