This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) on a research study funded by the Medical Research Council to deliver a novel body-based awareness intervention for patients experiencing anxiety in NHS Talking Therapies services. Full training in the intervention will given.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments and online delivery of the intervention under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
Work can be divided between working from home and coming into the study base at the University of Sussex and Sussex Education Centre in Hove.
There will be opportunities to contribute to the wider work of the research lab and to contribute to papers for publication.
Conducting assessments with study participants within NHS Talking Therapies services
Conducting end-of-intervention reviews with participants and signposting on as appropriate
Delivering PWP support sessions to participants remotely, supporting participants through the intervention.
Attending weekly research team meetings
Supporting the study research assistant with a range of study tasks as required
The study team is a multidisciplinary research team at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Brighton and Sussex Medical School. We work together with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, where this post will be located. Our bench-to-bedside research focuses on brain-body interactions in mental health conditions.

To facilitate communication between NHS Talking Therapies services and research team
To follow clinical trial procedures adhering to the trial protocol
To support recruitment, screening, and consenting of prospective trial participants
To support participants in research assessments before, during, and after therapy
To support participants if technological problems arise
To deliver online support sessions
To conduct clinical needs assessment after therapy course has ended
To collect research and clinical data according to trial protocol
