Purpose of the post

Women\'s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Over the past 49 years Women\'s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice.

We empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs. We are a federation of 170 organisations who provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country.

Our campaigns and public affairs work achieves change in policy, practice and awareness, encouraging healthy relationships and helping to build a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.

This exciting post will play a leading role in achieving change for survivors of domestic abuse and Women\'s Aid\'s federation of member services across England. The role holder will be responsible for mobilising campaigners and achieving influence and change in the context of domestic policy in the run up to the next UK General Election and Women\'s Aid\'s 50th birthday.

The post holder will support the Head of External Affairs to implement key cross-organisational strategies, leading the public affairs and campaigns function of the team.
