Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people within Peterborough? Do you have experience in public health commissioning and a strong understanding of policy and practice relating to children, young people and mental health strategies?



Peterborough City Council is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable

Public Health Improvement Officer

to join our Public Health Directorate. This role focuses on developing, commissioning, and evaluating evidence-based health improvement programmes for children, young people, and public mental health.



Key responsibilities within the role include;


Support the commissioning cycle within our Children and Young Peoples team. Analyse public health data to inform service planning and delivery. Lead collaborative projects with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure services deliver value for money and improved health outcomes.

We are looking for professionals with the following knowledge, skills, and attributes;


Degree-level qualification in health or a related field (Master's desirable). Strong knowledge of public health policy, commissioning, and evaluation. Proven experience in project management, partnership working, and contract monitoring. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
