Public Service Centre Supervisor

at Police Headquarters, Bridgend. Could you be who we are looking for?


About the team/Department you will be joining:


A vacancy has arisen for a part-time and full-time supervisor in the Joint Public Service Centre, at Police Headquarters, Bridgend. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work in an Emergency Control Room where all 999 emergency and 101 non-emergency calls and digital contacts from the public are received.


About the role and your key responsibilities:


The role is based at the Public Service Centre, South Wales Police Headquarters. The role includes:

Supporting the Public Service Centre Control Room Inspector in delivering the effective management of resources. Supporting the Force Incident Manager, during critical or potentially critical incidents, to ensure the safety of all and contribute to the timely resolution of incidents. Monitoring and review of on-going incidents and support staff to ensure effective and efficient responses Responsibility for a team, ensuring their wellbeing, performance and development are regularly monitored. Providing advice to members of the public Audit the work of Public Service Centrestaff and identify individual or team training & development needs Responsibility for the development of the Digital Desk and the implementation of associated systems and processes.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:


The skills and experience required are outlined in the Role Profile and will need to be evidenced in your application. Skills include:



Experience of call centre/control room environment Previous supervisory experience and leadership skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to plan and prioritise daily workloads, and work under pressure Must have experience of preparing management reports/documentation Experience of dealing with the public using tele-communications systems


The successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to RV level
