About the Role

As a Publishing Administrative Editor, you will have the opportunity to take ownership for the efficient operations of our editorial office. You will be part of our busy journal team ensuring the successful publication of leading scientific journals. You will deliver editorial and administrative services to Editors, Authors and Reviewers through providing high-level, quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering editorial administration services to editors, authors and reviewers to ensure journal needs and service level agreements are met
  • Managing the editorial, submission and review process efficiently to reduce the lead-time from submission to approval
  • Generating journal and ad-hoc reports for editors and publishers for board meetings and strategic planning
  • Identifying and implementing changes to workflow and configuration to optimize the performance of journals, release initiatives and publishing policies
  • Providing support and troubleshooting advice to editors, reviewers, authors and teams for our submission system
  • Communicating with our journal community, publishers and cross-functional teams to provide updates and advice for submission and publication queries
Requirements
  • Have excellent administration skills and a real eye for detail and accuracy
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to engage and build relationships
  • Be able to take ownership of problems and implement solutions
  • Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives that make a difference
  • Show good data analysis skills and the ability to create and generate reports
  • Have great computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems
  • Have excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Be a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and a customer-focused approach
