Haverfordwest High VC School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Pupil Wellbeing and Safeguarding Officer to join our committed team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality pastoral care in the School, liaising with and working alongside the relevant pastoral staff including the Designated Safeguarding Team, Achievement Leaders, Pastoral assistants, the School Nurse and the School Counsellor, as well as external agencies.
The successful candidate will assist with all operational aspects of safeguarding across the school and play an active role in promoting emotional wellbeing and safeguarding for all pupils. You will be responsible for responding effectively to daily safeguarding concerns and will work closely with the Pupil Wellbeing and Safeguarding Manager, deputising for them as and when required.
In addition, you will contribute to the ongoing development of school policies, practices, and guidance relating to safeguarding and wellbeing, while maintaining accurate central records of safeguarding case files and caseloads. This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and external professionals. You should be highly organised, discreet with sensitive information, and committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for young people.
