About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase and Sales Clerk to join our small but dynamic finance team. In this role, you will manage purchase and sales ledgers, reconcile accounts, process invoices, support month-end procedures, and assist with supplier and customer management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with ledger experience and strong IT skills to contribute to a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Ledger:

Match and process purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding first time Accurate VAT coding of purchase invoices Monthly ledger reconciliation and creditor reporting Purchase ledger allocations and supplier statement reviews Chasing of missing invoices and costs Support finance team with preparation and posting of month-end journals Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Sales Ledger:

Raise and process customer invoices accurately and on time Reconcile customer accounts and monitor outstanding debts Manage and resolve queries from customers regarding invoices or payments Support debt collection and follow up on overdue accounts Prepare reports on sales ledger activity and outstanding balances Assist with month-end sales ledger reconciliations

Qualifications:

AAT qualification (or equivalent) Previous purchase and sales ledger experience Experience with Sage 50 Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
