We are currently seeking a
Purchase Ledger Clerk
to join our Accounts team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual who is passionate about numbers and process. Your role will be key in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of suppliers and the smooth running of the purchase ledger.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute monthly payment selection loads, and present payment runs to the Purchase Ledger Manager.
Assist with GRNI reconciliation and ensure the ledger remains clean and up to date.
Accurately enter invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
Process multi-currency invoices accurately.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Collaborate with stores and purchasing teams to resolve invoice and order queries.
Accurately process and manage expenses, with a thorough understanding of VAT elements
Clear and reconcile direct debit accounts, maintaining accurate records.
Communicate confidently and professionally with suppliers via email and phone.
Provide general administrative support across finance functions, including assistance with audit preparation.
Meet monthly reporting and reconciliation deadlines and contribute to departmental objectives.
Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Key Requirements
Previous experience in purchase ledger and financial administration.
High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including use of VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
