A look into the role

The successful candidate will proactively manage our expenses system, ensuring purchase orders and invoices are used correctly and are accurately recorded, coded and paid.

As Purchase Ledger Administrator, you will:

  • Be responsible for the Lightyear software system, tracking purchase orders and invoices through the system and ordering to payment.
  • Complete supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Communicate effectively and work with suppliers on reconciling of accounts and resolving any queries.
  • Process central billing invoices to customers and ensure the accounts are reconciled with the suppliers.
  • Perform BACS and cheque payment runs where required.
  • Take part in the end of month process for the purchase ledger.
  • Set up new accounts on IT Systems, ensuring sufficient information is received and new supplier forms are fully completed.
  • Assist with auditor queries during interim and annual audits.
Skills for Success

Joining us Purchase Ledger Administrator, the minimum criteria you\'ll need is:
  • GCSE Maths & English minimum Grade C or Equivalent
The attributes you\'ll need include:
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills for effective diary planning and time management
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to process large volumes of paperwork quickly and accurately
  • Ability to effectively interact with suppliers on the phone
Desirable Criteria include:
  • Computer based qualification
  • Previous purchase ledger experience
  • Experience in Foodservice or FMCG
  • Experience of using Lightyear software
  • Experience of Agresso, Didos and Accord Systems

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid working arrangement available.
