Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Finance Team. The role is to be focused on Marfleet and Bradshaw Limited, our construction company in the group, but could expand into other areas when required.

We would welcome applications from those with previous experience in the construction industry. The candidates should be dedicated and hard working with the ability to communicate well with the wider business.

Marfleet and Bradshaw are a construction company specialising in house building for the Housing Association and private developers. The company consists of a team who have specialised knowledge in this field of construction over many years, building up an excellent reputation within the industry.

Essential Responsibilities



Responsibility of inputting all subcontractor and material invoices for approval Assist with the three-way matching of purchase invoices using the purchase orders and delivery notes from site Responsibly for tracking utilities bills Assist with payment runs and ad hoc payments online Create and maintain supplier records Prepare CIS returns Prepare bank reconciliations Process company credit cards Tracking of company mileages and processing of expenses Monitoring on and off hire of plant for our insurers Maintenance of the company's accounts inboxes Communication with external suppliers and internal business contacts, including via the phone Other bookkeeping tasks Other ad hoc duties as required by the businesses

Key Skills



Previous experience within the construction industry is essential Experience with CIS is essential Experience with VAT is essential Experience using accounting software (Xero/Sage/Eque2) is preferable Excellent communication skills at all levels Self-motivated and resilient with excellent organisational skills Hardworking, flexible and reliable with good attention to detail Adaptable and works well under pressure Good interpersonal skills Experience using Microsoft Excel is essential

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00 per year
