Bedfordshire

Salary:

25,000 - 30,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours:

08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)

As part of our continued growth, we're seeking an experienced

Purchase Ledger Clerk

to join our expanding finance team.

The Role



You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the accounts payable process, and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time. This is a great opportunity to join a professional, fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and organisational skills will make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities



Invoice Processing & Supplier Management



Accurately process high-volume purchase invoices Match invoices with POs and delivery notes Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries in a timely manner

Accounts Support



Prepare payment runs and maintain payment schedules Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies Support month-end processes with accurate data input

General Finance Administration



Maintain digital records and update internal finance systems Assist with audit preparation and documentation when required Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance standards

What We're Looking For



Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage) Positive, professional attitude with strong communication skills Construction or engineering sector experience (desirable)
