Overview


We are the largest civil engineering/groundwork business in Mansfield, experiencing continued growth, seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our amazing finance team. This role is essential in managing the organisation's accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, and supporting overall financial operations. The successful candidate will have experience with various accounting software and data entry, along with strong analysis skills to facilitate smooth procurement and payment procedures.

Responsibilities



Process and verify supplier invoices using our accounting software Redsky and Point of Rental. Maintain accurate records of all purchase transactions and ensure compliance with organisational policies. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Manage accounts payable functions, including data entry and processing of payments in a timely manner. Assist with month-end closing activities related to purchase ledger accounts. Support the procurement team by providing analysis on spending patterns and supplier performance. Collaborate with other departments to ensure purchase orders align with organisational budgets and policies. Maintain organised documentation for audit purposes and internal reporting. Ordering of workwear, stationery, office canteen items and general office equipment. Reconciling delivery tickets back to invoices, and also controlling muck tickets for waste management.

Requirements



Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, or similar systems. Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial reconciliation techniques. Analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies or trends. Familiarity with HRIS systems is desirable but not essential. Experience in human resources functions related to procurement or finance is advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay: 26,000.00-28,000.00 per year
