JOB SPECIFICATION
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Controller to join our busy Finance team, based in Spalding.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in controlling and maintaining accounts, processing purchase invoices, and ensuring payments are made to commercial timescales. You will ensure all purchase ledger duties are fulfilled to a high standard, in line with Coveris group of companies' business objectives whilst complying always, with statutory law and HMRC requirements.
THE ROLE
Ensure all invoices are matched to purchase orders, authorised and entered on the Accounts Payable Ledgers in accordance with company procedures and in a timely and accurate manner.
Correctly code all invoices to the correct nominal ledgers and site identifiers.
Liaise with suppliers to resolve any queries and ensure payments are made to the correct commercial timescales
Perform month end accounts payable ledger shutdown procedures.
Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly or regular basis.
Set up new supplier credit accounts in accordance with company procedures
Ensure all filing is completed in an orderly manner and provide information to other departments or sites as required.
Assist in holiday cover or workload in other ledgers in the AP department
THE PERSON
Previous experience in purchase ledger or payments desirable.
Excellent attention to detail.
Organised and calm under pressure.
Friendly, approachable and flexible - a team player.
Travel may be required therefore a current clean driving licence would be an advantage.
Practical knowledge and understanding of general accounting including prepayments and accruals would be desirable.
